The Word of God is clear that in order for one to become a Christian he or she must believe (John 3:16). Belief is to be exercised in the Son of God, Jesus Christ. He alone has made it possible for anyone who would believe to have eternal life (John 14:6).

According to what is known as the “Romans’ Road,” several Scripture passages are used to explain the sinful condition of mankind and the Saviorhood of God’s Son, Jesus Christ. Simply put, men and women are sinners, “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Rom. 3:23). We have all sinned because we’re born of Adam and Eve and they sinned in the garden, “therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned” (Rom. 5:12). “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Rom. 6:23). However God did not leave us in this condition without hope, “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation (Rom. 10:9-10).

Have you come to the place in your life where you are creation that if you were to die that you would go to heaven? Suppose you were to die, and you stood before God, and He were to ask you why He should let you into His heaven. What do you think you would say to Him? If it is anything other than because you are trusting in the sacrificial atonement of His Son, Jesus Christ, as you Savior, your answer doesn’t match up with what the Bible says is the only work that meets the requirement of God for salvation (Ephesians 2:8-9).
